He remained in the House of Representatives through 2007 until he was elected as Vermont's junior U.S. Senator. Sanders serves on the following committees: Environment and Public Works; Energy and Natural Resources; Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions; Budget and Veterans' Affairs.
