The New York Philharmonic performs Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Resurrection, in honor of the victims of September 11, 2001, in a free concert for the people of New York. Music Director Alan Gilbert will leads the New York Philharmonic in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, with soprano Dorothea Roschmann, mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung and the New York Choral Artists. A host, yet to be determined, frames the performance with remarks on the tragic losses 10 years ago and the spirit of remembrance and renewal of the piece.
